Mashad reflects the carpet center in the northeast of Persia. It was producing so strong that
even the market prices fell. Thus, the province also includes the leading hub for wool.
The the similarity of the classic Mashad could be confused with the Kashan. However, on
closer look It is not red, but a rather redpurple fond of the carpet, usually in Medallionstile,
decorating. A lot of floral elements and forms of flowers adorn the carpet. The relatively local
soft wool is tied to cotton with a knot density of 150-250K Knt/sqm.
